Many foreign visitors to Peru are happy relaxing few days to travel the ancient Inca archaeological sites, kick back in luxury hotels and exclusive riding trains Machu Picchu. But if the dream getaway is to take things to the max in search of extreme thrills and fun, you will not be disappointed either! Peru can offer it all! Here are the 5 best extreme sports in Peru

Extreme mountain biking

Peru was made for mountain biking, after all Andes -. World’s longest mountain chain runs right down the center of the country, culminating in 22.132 feet (6746 m) in the Cordillera Blanca in central Peru. Possibly one of the most difficult sports in Peru with locals and foreigners alike, there are literally thousands of places to find fun fast down the hill thrills. In Cusco is a handful of specialist tour operators who offer a range of other day (and multi-day) trips, with full suspension Kona bikes. Surfing

You would not think so, but yes, Peru is actually one of the best surfing spots in the world. Along the northern coastline, Peru offers waves for everyone from beginners to experts. Peru has produced many world surfing champions, it is easy to see why when you understand how good the waves are. Chicama has the longest left-handed surged in the world at 4km long, and Mancora (close) has the largest global left-handed point break in the world. Extreme sports in Peru do not get much better than this!

Sand table

In 1960, the small oasis town of Huacachina was once a vacation spot for the rich Hot-limenians. Nowadays, this rather less impressive site is the home of one of the most fun and extreme sports in Peru – Sand table. Located 7 km from the main city of Ica, Huacachina is surrounded by high sand dunes that stretch as far as the eye can see. There are only a handful of hostels in town, but all of them will rent you a sand table for a few soles a day. Cover yourself from head-to-toe in sun-block and start climbing! It’s fun, cheap, exciting and often painful!

White Water Rafting

With so many mountains, there are bound to be quite a lot of fast flowing rivers and rocky to enjoy. The Urubamba River (in the Sacred Valley), offers exciting whole day experience that is suitable for beginners through to intermediary rafters. But hard-core panels looking for the ultimate thrill has to go a little bit further. Cotahuasi Canyon is the deepest canyon in the world, and is also home to one of the most difficult challenges rafting world. The trail includes 6 days of full-on, technical class 4-5 rapids uncharted pre-Inca ruins and beautiful camping. Extreme sports in Peru do not get much better than this! But be warned Cotahuasi raft is for the most demanding travelers!

Zip Lines in the forest

15 Km from Machu Picchu, near the village of Santa Teresa is the first Peruvian top canopy zip line (also known as Flying fox). A series of cables with a total length of 2500 meters are broken up into six parts, with the longest section of 400 meters in length. The fastest point of the wire can reach speeds of 60 km / h (37 mph), which is enough to give a sense of flight! Make sure that you are not scared but, as part of the line hangs 150 meters above the jungle floor. Extreme sports in Peru do not get much more fun than this!
